Dancer
Adam Rech is a dancer/choreographer from Dallas, Texas. He started training at the age of five with The Ballet Academy of Texas, where he worked with teachers Lisa Slagle, Tammie Reinsch, Thom Chlower, Orlando Molina, and the late Darrel Cleveland. As a young dancer, Rech was awarded scholarships to multiple summer intensives including ABT Alabama, Oklahoma City Ballet, and the Gus Giordano Jazz School. In spring 2019, Rech received his BFA in dance from Sam Houston State University where he performed works by Robert Battle, Joshua Mancluich, Shen Wei, and Joshua L. Peugh. During the fall of his senior year, Rech was invited to study abroad in Israel with the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, where he performed works by artistic director Rami Be’er, as well as Swedish choreographer Mats Ek.
Operating now in Dallas Texas, Rech has had the opportunity to perform and create locally with groups including 6 O’Clock Dance Theater, Over The Bridge Arts and Ballet Pappion. He looks forward to continuing to share his passion for new, cutting edge, earthy, and socially impactful works.
Choreographer
As a choreographer, Rech pulls his inspiration from art, photography, books, and politics. His goal is to create commentative work with a clear sense of aesthetic. Not one to shy away from darker themes, Rech has tackled subjects including death, brainwashing, hive mentality, censorship, and identity. For him, what makes dance so important is the ability to engage audiences in a conversation - to get them to listen and empathize, without saying a word. Recently, Rech has returned home from Israel and completed his BFA in Dance. His work has been shown at the Regional Dance America South West Conference in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He has choreographed multiple pieces for Tuzer Dance School, with performances at the Eisman Center in Richardson, Texas. His choreography has been restaged for 6 O’Clock Dance Theater, performed at the Latina Cultural Center in Dallas, Texas. Rech has also premiered various new works at the James and Nancy Gaertner Performing Arts Center in Huntsville, Texas, as well as the Zikri Theatre in Gaaton, Israel.
